Tired of Watching

In Haiku on February 12, 2011 at 10:25 pm

Tired of watching.
turn off the television
and make love to me.

Compare yourself to
you yesterday, not others
to rate what you’re worth.

I’m Sorry my Friend

In Poem on February 10, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Straying from my usual here, I thought I would post a short poem.

I’m sorry my friend,
You shouldn’t stay any longer.
There is nothing left that I know how to offer.

I have given you my soul,
my heart,
my pride.
Now I’ve left you waiting while I cry.
[oh, how I’ve cried.]

Snow Falling

In Haiku on February 10, 2011 at 8:41 pm

Snow falling on me
blending me into the white
of the cold city.

What? She said that? No…
Lips spewing gossip, garbage.
Not hard to believe.

I would have thought

In Haiku on February 8, 2011 at 6:15 pm

I would have thought that
someone like you shops at Birks,
not Walmart, like me.

Creativity is dead

In Haiku on February 7, 2011 at 4:35 pm

is dead,” said the 20 same
snowmen, in a row.

*Oh, how it pains me to walk into a school or daycare and see 20 identical pictures or crafts done by the kids, hanging in a row. What about teaching art and inspiring creativity? Having every child replicate the same thing is not art by any means.

Sometimes the Hardest

In Haiku on February 6, 2011 at 10:43 pm

Sometimes the hardest
Part of life is when you see
You’re too hard on you.

When it was

In Haiku on February 5, 2011 at 9:05 pm

When it was cold out
We used to cuddle and drink
hot tea, but you’re gone.

I tried

In Haiku on February 4, 2011 at 7:20 pm

I tried but failed
When I reached for the bright stars.
I should have stayed home.
